So you’ve logged into your website and found all your maps have been replaced by the annoying MobileMe swinging sign? But, all is not a loss. There is a simple workaround.
The problem is that the Google Maps Widget in iWeb had “API’s” that were hosted on the MobileMe Servers and this is no longer supported by Apple and wasn’t transitioned into iCloud.
You can still use google map however, you will need to get the embed code from google and paste it into a “HTML Snippet” in iWeb.
Need more detailed instructions? Not a problem
1), you will need to go to google and create the desired location for your map.
2), click on the link icon
3), copy the code titled “Paste HTML to embed in website”
4), go back to iWeb and delete your existing Google Maps widget.
5), click the Show Media button (bottom right of screen) and drag and drop the HTML snippet widget onto your page.
6), paste your text into the box and Click Apply!
Your new google map is now working again!
*Update 2*
I recently had someone looking to kill the address bubble here is the little bit of code to do so:
The “&iwloc=near” will kill the direction pop-up
*Update*
You can add a Bing map in a similar fashion.
1.), enter the address of your map & click share.
2.), copy the code titled “EMBED IN A WEBPAGE”
3.), paste your text into the HTML Snippet and Click Apply!
