Take back control of your website. A search for an iWeb Replacement

 

If you are like me you have been using iWeb for a while now but, it may be time to at least start exploring the options of a replacement.

While iWeb 3.0.4 still works under the latest version of Mountain Lion (10.8.3) Here are a couple of Apps I have been playing with.

 

EasyWeb – Pricing is free when Hosted w/Rage & undetermined for Bring Your Own hosting – Still in the Beta phase – This App has an iWeb look and feel to it & doesn’t limit you to a “template or theme” you can freely design your site

WebAcappella – 79 € ( about $102.49 USD) – This French App has a PhotoShop look & feel to it and also allows you to freely design your site.  There is a free “Limited version” that lets you get an idea if this is the right App for you or not.

Adobe Muse – $14.99 (muse only) to $49.99 (all Adobe Apps) a Monthly or Annual Subscription – Though this is a subscription app I really like this one. You get access to about 500 or so Web fonts that you do NOT need to code for simply select the font and it does the rest. I will admit that the interface may be a bit intimidating  for some users but, this app gives you a lot of flexibility & features (like built-in slideshows)

An extremely potent and versatile tool. If you have done design work with a page layout program, then you’re ready to work on web sites using this tool. Intuitive and straightforward are the words that come to mind. You can “try it out” for three months by buying a license from Amazon. You will be impressed!
