My weekend project

So, I picked up a 1986 Mercedes 300E that had been sitting for a while. And now, I am starting to put it back together. Over all the body and interior were pretty clean for a car of this age & millage (a little over 227K Miles) the wheels were tired & I may try refurbishing them as I like the look of the original 16 hole wheel but, I recently picked up a set of the newer 8 hole rims so, these will be the wheels for now. So, far mechanically I have only replaced the battery, installed a new fuel filter & pump, and had the passenger window motor fixed. I plan on replacing the injectors and getting a new set of spark plugs, wires, & distributor as she still has a bit of a rough idle.

Here are a couple pictures. Also, the door handles were pretty faded so, I tried rubbing a bit of Peanut Butter ( I know a bit unconventional ) on them and it made a night and day difference in the appearance of them.

Update:

I received a small pizza box in appearance from FedEx last evening. This was my Mercedes-Benz Classic High Mileage Award, it presented to owners whose vehicles have logged 155,000 miles or more. I had found an application for this award filled it out took my car to the Mercedes-Benz Dealer to be certified and about 3 months later received this package:
